They lay breathing

Next to me

Feminine hearts

Drawing breaths

Breaking the silence of a wintry evening

Girlfriend and best friend

Sharing the bed

Each breath

Draws

The promise

Of loyalty

My two legged lover

My four legged friend

Snuggled together

Silent

Silence is love in so many ways

My first grown up family

My first attempt at

Selflessness
